A member of the public asked for the Parish Council to approach Staffordshire County Council with regard to traffic calming at the entrance to Station Road Norton Bridge, there have been 3 accidents on the bend recently; the fence to the property on the bend has been damaged. There is a massive risk to health and safety. The speed limit is not adhered to and motor bikers use the road as a race track at the weekends The Clerk will contact P Lees and Cllr Pert .Action Clerk |

All actions from the meeting held on 4th April 2022 have been completed. The minutes from the meeting held on 4th April 2022 have been approved by the Cllrs as a true record of the meeting. |

18/28884/DCLB Discharge of condition 3 & 4 17/26195/HOU and 17/26242/LBC REFUSED due to insufficient information on the external render and rear casements for windows. Appeal for Waterstone Barn 21/35006/HOU Old Mill Farm House Chebsey The Cllr’s discussed the concerns regarding the parking at the property and the lack of information on the Lawful Development Certificate from Stafford Borough Council. It was agreed that the Clerk should write to Sir Bill Cash and send a copy to Cllr J Pert. Action Clerk 21/35265/FUL GRS Vehicle Logistics centre Erection of additional technical centre building. The Cllr’s discussed the application and have no comments to make. The Clerk will write to the Case Officer. Action Clerk.

22/86 | To discuss the Midlands Rural Housing investigation into rural housing needs.
The members of the public present were given the opportunity to discuss their concerns and ask the Cllr’s questions regarding the Midland Rural Housing survey. After discussion it was agreed the Parish Council would arrange a mail shot to let everyone in the Parish know about the survey, with the link to be able to complete the survey on line. The Clerk will write to MRH and the Landowner to invite them to the next Parish Council meeting on 6th June 2022. Action Clerk.

22/88 | Highway and Footpath Matters.
Discuss application form regarding request for footpath from Blurtons Lane to Hilcote crossroads. After discussion it was agreed that unfortunately, it is not feasible for the Parish Council to make an application for the footpath. The Clerk will advise the resident. Action Clerk. Update on the Norton Bridge bus route 102/103 The Clerk has received an email from Staffordshire County Council saying that the service was removed from Norton Bridge when it was reviewed in 2018. The reason for removal was a lack of passengers . (On average less than one per day) Staffordshire County Council say they will discuss the possibility of re-routing one of the services, but, at this stage, they cannot make any guarantees. |
22/89 | Update on Broadband for the Parish
Cllr B Jones has been liaising with Cllr J Pert regarding options to improve Broadband in the Parish. After discussion it was agreed for a Broadband survey to be issued to the residents of the Parish. The Cllr’s will distribute the survey and replies should be sent to the Clerk. Action Cllr’s |
22/90 | HS2.
The SRCG continues to promote the relocation of the proposed IMRB near Yarnfield and Cold Norton, to an alternative site at Aldersley Rough. HS2 Ltd and UK Government however appear determined presently to continue with the Stone area project. SRCG will continue to lobby the relevant parties.

22/91 | Discuss Jubilee Celebrations for 2022.
Tree planting Beacon and Cream tea details. The Cllr’s will meet at All Saints Church Car Park at 10am on 21st May 2022 to commence the tree planting. Commemorative Plaques will be put in place at a later date. Flyers will be distributed with details of how to book a place at Chebsey Parish Hall for the cream tea on 11th June 2022. Action Cllrs. Cllr M Ainsworth-Hickman has secured a grant of £1000 for the Jubilee Celebrations through the Friends of Norton Bridge. |
22/92 | Feedback from Stone Liaison Meeting held by Zoom on 27th April 2022
Cllr Jim Davies re elected as Chair, Cllr Peter Jones elected as Vice Chair. Notes from previous meeting were accepted as a true record of the meeting. Pleased that the civic amenities visits have restarted. School Transport for 0/16s no further forward. Support from MPs. Decided to take off the agenda until the new school year starts. The design for the Heritage Centre has now been agreed and discussions are to commence with the architect. Swynnertons’ Neighbourhood Plan is nearing completion. HS2 Yarnfield Lane due to be shut again Network rail are doing some work and HS2 will be doing ground surveys. Pot holes were discussed and the fact SCC are now doing roads of pot holes not just individual holes, query over a shortage of white line paint. The Town Clerk will invite the Speed watch team to the next meeting. No information on the new theatre, funding from HS2. Calendar of events has been set up. Next meeting 20th July 3pm zoom. |

The clerk will email for further details. Action Clerk. Poster from Soroptimist International to nominate a local Super-Heroine. Nomination forms from nominatealocalheroine@gmail.com closing date 28th May 2022. Cllr D Davis and Cllr J Green offered their Resignations to the Chair with immediate effect. Action Cllr D Davis and Cllr J Green to put their Resignations in writing to the Chair. The Clerk will contact the Elections Office so the vacancies for Councillors can be advertised. Cllr M Ainsworth-Hickman thanked both Cllr’s for their contributions and support to the Parish. |
